i really like this style, you should read my article on the influence of haiku on me at Canadian Zen Haiku Smartgroups, its in the last journal,

Amazing! It was a coin-toss what I would post today, and that which I have earmarked for tomorrow now has so many shades of things you touch on here - and also in Haiku form! Many of these cut to the quick, Lori, and say so much in so few syllables. Particular favs are 1, 3 and 9. Very well done! TY Kate xx

Lori, this is so well written, but I have to agree mainly with the "vultures" that wait for something to happen and then jump off the fence to eat the burning flesh of the condemned lovers. I just had a flesh eating experience my a very sneaky vulture who flutters around trying to destroy those he envies. But you are aware of this also. Wonderful poetry. Short and to the point.
