I’d rather complain than apply myself
I’d rather place blame than get off the shelf
it’s the fault of the rich, it’s the fault of the poor
it’s the fault of the family who lives next door

the stock market is up
inflation is high
they’re slashing the program
that lets me get by

they’ve raised my tuition
my entitlements down
and they, they, they
don’t seem to care
that I’m going to drown

the rich have conspired
I know it’s their plan
they show no compassion
for their fellow man

the poor are a drain
like a disease in the land
I don’t mind helping
but they want my whole hand

the donkeys are asses
the elephant is tight
invest in yourself
and you might get it right
