escaping the earth
a white balloon dances
with the wind

white droppings
bombard the parking lot
as crows fly by

98 degrees
at nine thirty pm
a sleepless night

slow-rising sun
the old oak once again
casts a shadow

beneath the willow
in a small burrow
field mice hide

crafting
a haiku of substance
would bring pleasure

Verses 1 and 5 are my favorites. Something about haiku brings out the best of our poetic essence. I wasn't sure you could get better than you were, but you did. Keep those haiku a'comin.
