Lori, this is an excellent poem, powerful and honest. I especially love that you end with the core truth, "God is." No matter our wayward wandering, God is. Oh, how I have seen situations like that alluded to in stanza 2 and 3. Ours is to remember those last two words and hold fast to hope. Blessings, Dawn

God is - and how badly He can be misrepresented by those who claim to be His people. We will have a lot to answer for one day - the good we have not done as well as the bad that we have: to God and to others. And not least will be the judgments that have been attributed to God because of the faults of those who confess His name and fly under His ensign. God have mercy! Stark truth vividly expressed. those that profess to be Christians aren't always Christian-like in thought or deed. God sees all, knows all. "By their fruits you shall know them," it says in God's Word (not exactly sure where, but it's in there!).
