I like them all, but especially the following:

escalators

very well connected as well

nice... esp. #1. like the songbirds in first and "still, the eagle soars" in 5. don't know if you intended to connect them or not, but it worked well for me.

Lori, that first one echoes throughout the other four as I read them. First person I thought of when I read that was my grandmother who died three years ago. But being reminded of her is never a bad thing.
