Why bother repairing a failed connection when the new is so cheap to find… Owning your heart was never my intention though I did desire that love or something like it to grow, electrified by the taxation of untamed emotion. Now we kiss, nothing happens. Hot or cold. Nothing right, nothing wrong. Nothing. Not even an empty thought of the emptiness at hand. Nothing, except the reality of a failed connection. Why bother…

Although we desire the 1000 Volts on a regular basis, we couldn't hope to live our lives with that degree of burn going on incessantly...we'd burn out! But, at the other end of the spectrum, you have so wonderfully captured the "phut" of a spent wire and the deadness that that engenders - like a lead balloon!! Phil's comment has a "last-ditch" wisdom to it, too! Can feel the heavy lethargy here, Lori - well expressed. TY Kate xx
