This is dedicated to all the self absorbed...

Speaking to the air again, she paused
for incidentals. A breath, a thought,
proceeding then, another jumbled mess
of color coded words…

Economics was her pathway to
a parallel panorama.
She taught things
she could by no means do.

A mix of Marx, a touch of Nash,
a bloody transformation. Another
pompous academic making love
to her own view…

Looking back, from time to time, she
seems a lot like you.

Donni-Jay said to look at your site Lori. I agree with her that you are very pretty, but I am at a loss to understand your poem. Sorry, I am new to poems! But, I shall come back and read some articles and stories.

Have known quite a few of these in my time; have also known quite a few bureaucrats and politicians who do the same.

Lori, excellent poem, with a lot of truth. Let the self absorbed be warned. Insanity is waiting just around the corner.Hehehehe. "JUST KIDDING"!!

Dear Lori

Excellent write, I pity those
that are so self absorbed, for
I feel they miss the best in life.
Thanks for sharing.

I think that some people best beat their lips together to keep the circulation in a stale room moving so they don't put themselves to sleep with their own empty chatter.

Great "p" sounds . . . pompous, panorama, parallel, give this poem it's "punch!"

blessin's, great satire in verse my Sistah,

Superb write Lori! Some are absorbed beyond the ability
to be of any use to anyone but themselves. Almost to the
point of narcissum. A lot of that around today!

"Another pompous academic making love

I love it, I most certainly know some like this, one is a poet and a poetry professor who professes that no one is as perfect as she, the old crow...LOL!

She will die alone, without family nor friends, a shame, but it is the way she has brought it on herself...by the way, a poem herein and not a Haiku, and a very wonderful poem it is...Peace, ed & rufuz
