Senryu are similar to Haiku. Some in the English Haiku movement make no distinction at all. Others place Senryu's distinction around the human condition as opposed to Haiku's focus on nature. The choice is yours...

I would like to thank those of you who have encouraged my Haiku efforts. This past August, I decided to test the waters beyond AD and my own web site to see if my work was worthy of publication. I submitted a small sample of work to two publications which specialize in Haiku and received news from both this past week that each plan on using at least one of my submissions. I will also have a Haiku appear on Tinywords, a website which publishes one Haiku each day. Without your encouragement, I never would have made the attempt.
