The Parable of the Dog - A Short Tale

Ignoring the nature of the rabid dog,
I extended a hand in friendship.

The dog wasn’t looking for a friend,
but he willingly shared his disease.

“How dare you bite me,” I said.
“I intended you no harm.”

“I don’t live by your intentions,” replied the dog.

Excellent write...and the road to recovery is harsh whith those painful rabies shots and all...best to hunt down and shoot the poor animal before it spreads its madness..... :)

Yup..Like the sick snake, and the scorpion alagories...

Mad dogs and englishmen go out in the midday son, (Sorry; just thought I'd sing that old Noel Coward song) Any requests. Like over the hill and far far away?

You sure knocked over the middle stump, with this one..

This is a gem. Do some more. A lot more. Put them in a book. Become famous. Live life large.

Lori:

A good reflection of life. Some people ARE like this. There are worse scenarios. Worse is that the dog pretends to become your friend, and then stab at your back at any chance without a wink of an eye. Talks to you as if he's done nothing and still continues to be your friend. - This is worse. (I'm talking about both genders).

At least the dog in your scenario DID refuse your friendship.

How specific can you get Lori, should stand on it's owm right up there with Aessop's Fables. The lesson is a strong one and so clear.

You are great, big hug ((((((((((Lori)))))))

and doesn't the next scenario contain the beheading of the rabid animal?
Very interesting write here Lori...it takes a great and strong mind to reach this far.

"... I live by mine!!" Oh yes! This speaks volumes - of others but also of self. Of me it says "You judge yourself by your intentions (always good, of course!), and others by their actions!" The sad thing is how far apart these can both be in reality - or, at least, appear to be! A mirror for deep reflection here, as always, Lori. TY Kate xx
