in the breeze
the weeping willows
sing

the scent of roses-
mixed with memories
grandmother’s perfume

evening star-
with a wish
i touch heaven

midday sun-
her shadow
a step ahead

sudden downpour-
my shadow finds shelter
before me

summer eve-
sun tea with honey
cools the night

sudden down pour, my shadow finds shelter before me. In order to have a shadow we need a sun LOri. I continue to go in that direction, may we make millions of shadows. Feel thousands of suns. The sun inside lives to smile the shadow. My shadow at times wants to frown but my sun keeps to the clown. Shadows, clowns, and suns and your haiku

The two that touched me the most are:

sudden downpour-
my shadow finds shelter
before me

And:

evening star-
with a wish
i touch heaven

the scent of roses-

grandmother’s perfume

When I were kid. My grandpa slept in my bed, whilst I top tailed with another sibling. I never let dad change grandpas sheets cos I loved the smell of the lavender scent that the 90 yr young feller left there.
Now when I smell lavender, brings back memories of over 30 year ago.

Reading these I kinda feel that people of certain ilk have much in common.

I tilt me hat to these..

Lori, I tend to agree with the others’ as it seems these wonderful Haiku’s continue to flow from your quill with ease. I enjoyed them all, but the second and last ones hit closer to home. Thank you for sharing your work. Take good care and be well.

So evocative and nostalgic at the same time: especially like grandmother's perfume - spot on! All is well in this ideal world, Lori - as is in your ku. TY Kate xx

The third and 5th are my favorites, Lori, but all evoke sweet memories to be sure. Great Ku, as you always do. It is good to see a post from you.
Take care,

I agree with George, and the second one is my very favorite since I often fondly think of my grandmother when I smell a certain flower.

I liked all of these Lori, but I think my fav would have been,

sudden downpour-
my shadow finds shelter
before me

It seems to speak to the oneness.
Excellent Ku's.

You are the Queen of Haiku's. Each one is a gem and leaves a message that a thousand words could not convey as well.
