Nicely done and said, Lori. None of that "happy holiday" crap for me either. Finally, a few stores around here have gotten the message and I hear "Merry Christmas" after I spend my bucks, and actually heard a Christmas Carol the other day. Nearly had a heart attack. I found the manager and thanked him.

This is a stellar poem, Lori! You said it loud and clear. Christmas is upon us and for those of us who believe, we should not feel uncomfortable in celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ (there, I said His name!!) The same is true for all other holidays that people wish to observe or refuse to observe; let no one take away what is precious to you. Be comfortable with yourself and you won't have to worry about what the rest of the world is saying, praying or doing. Your rhyme and meter are perfect carrying the reader through your verse with a happy and galloping cadence, and the content dead-on spot. Merry Christmas, Lori!
