Scorpions and shrews hey...yes I've known a few of those in my day...lol...especially when they hem and haw and tell their indecisive lies.

The second one is very beautiful with very scenic imagery. Thanks for sharing sis.

These are lovely. 1 has 11 syllables & the other 15, right? Can they be different in that respect? I like the 2nd better. Cheers

You have taken such opposites and managed to connect them with a skill that only you possess, Lori. I love them both and for very different reasons. The first rings so true here in New Mexico where mud slinging is the fare of the day. The second touches my soul, for autumn is my favorite of all seasons. Today as I drove by the Bosque, I saw that the trees along the Rio Grande are now bedecked in golden splendor overtaking the last of the green. Soon the reds will paint the landscape and signal the end to this glorious season. Wonderful work!
