The Cry of the Broken Child

Can you hear the cry of the broken child
her dreams have slipped away
mommy and daddy drew blood again
with practiced daggers from the tongue

Can you hear the cry of the broken child
not knowing why she's bad
hiding in the corner of childhood thoughts
in shadowy shelters from the past

I hear the cry of the broken child
as she lives through daily hell
tormented by the ones she loves
misplaced in the circle of bitter endings...

The cries of the broken child have
stained my reluctant heart
her longings, her dreams, like vapors vanish
she dies, unknown, unseen,
as the world continues on
unwilling to heed... the cry...
of the broken child...

That really shook me, Lori. The best and most brilliant write I've ever read in quite a while. This will most definately stay with me for quite some time, as time goes by, sometimes I feel like that child. Bless you for this wonderful insight, the most precious words, and the beautiful threads of love and hope. Brilliant writing.

Warm Love,
