I often wondered why men and women stay in unhealthy relationships but I think you express it well in this poem. Bravo.

Oh Wow..this just got to me, lovely and so sad, Love these lines:
My soul is like an empty dream
a colorless vision of hell
drained by hope's foolhardiness
a scene rehearsed too well

Dark and as someone had said too hard on you. Lovers are like fish, there's a lot of them in the sea. Expressive work, poetry helps purge the soul, hopefully!

Many excellent lines here Lori...
I think you are being too hard on you in this poem.
From all I've read of you I don't think you could be someones love (valentine) without being their friend...well...not for long anyway,guess that's what this poem is about,feeling ready to explode.
Hug yourself ...you are a nice lady and deserve perfect love and nothing less.
This poem is full of fire and streaks of pain.
