Dried memories of our former love
continue in my heart...
cherished like a lover's rose
held in the neglected pages
of a once read classic

When I think of you
dreams of passion flood my mind
with the fragrance of love's bouquet
allowing yesterday to live forever
and forever to touch today

You loved me like no other
holding my heart with
the warmth of your promise
not caring that I was damaged beyond repair
unable to return your affection

I love you for loving me
but my heart will never be yours...
it dwells in the graveyard of lost romance
an eternal victim to the suicide of broken dreams
pressed between the pages of soft reflection

Sometimes pain hollows out the crucible of our very souls-but then cannot a deeper one hold that much more joy when it does come?

beautiful, sadly beautiful...oh, those broken dreams and the power they hold...Lori, you've captured so well, the imagery and quietly sad ache and this is so felt,
thank you...ah, sigh, just got me, you know?

Hi Lori,
A very sad poem, even sadder is the thought that it should take such sadness, to create such beautiful poetry.----Morchuis
