Lori,
This is the first time I have read one of your writes. This is beautiful yet sad. Mayn of people die and are forgotten. I have a feeling that you could never be one of those people. Excellent write and thank you so much for reading and reviewing my work.
God Bless.

Such beautiful, inspired poetry. Technique and imagination blend to give this work a life of its own.
Lori, I remember you from way back and my thoughts have often strayed to the part of me that remembers and misses a talent I thought I may never again encounter. Enough of reminiscing: on with the comments about this poem. It is a graphic and emotively toned example of why free verse is NOT "cut-up" prose. The imagery and choice of words are very powerful and the thought and feeling they generate are palpable and memorable.
I'm so happy to catch up with you again and look forward to reading more of your inspired poetry as often as time will permit.

Oh Lori, This is so powerful and beautiful ... it touches the soul deeply. Such strikingly memorable words written from the heart of one who will always be remembered.
Beautiful poem, Lori. I'll always remember you, sweetheart. This reminds me of my favorite sonnet by Christina Rossetti (1830-1894):
REMEMBER me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

Just as the ANZACS are remembered, i am sure that it would be a tragedy if people forgot them, as it would if we ever forgot you!

Lori, you will not die forgotten, and I will remember you. I will remember your words and ideas you shared with me. And I will place them in a corner of my soul and carry them with me forever. I will remember you. Please remember me too. Bill
