I Weep Within

My experience with PTSD.

Violating hands invade my sleeplessness
once again piercing the axis of my hope
as I lose all sense of inner direction

Reliving that endless day incessantly
I feel the infringement of their intention...
If only I could die, perhaps this moment would end
Yet, some hurts never die, nor fade, nor free their grip
but live eternally in an open abrasion of the soul
They are more than mere imagination
They are not a dream or nightmare
They are simply reality
A penetration into darkness
My attempt at life

As I wait, longing for death, and the elimination of this timeless punishment
I weep within, for external tears go unseen...

I feel the pain in this. Writing has been incredibly cathartic for me; I hope it helps you as well.

I wish you peace within,

A penetrating set of verses, Lori.
Some of the treatments mentioned by
others here, are worth checking into.
I know what you are experiencing.
Strength to you, dear girl.

Lori..have you tried alternate modalities of healing..eg. REIKI..releasing..regression..there is much available..sometimes academic medicine just isn't enough...one must go within..but it must be a gentle opening...

PS I'm a Reiki Master..that's why I mentioned the above methods..:)

It is too bad that we all don't have some type of valve to release when we feel this way. It is very hard to forgive and forget.

I agree with Pat, Lori! exceptional writing! You make me feel the depth of the penetration, which thankfully, I can reject the horrible heaviness of it quickly, but you can't and that makes me truly hurt for you.It just seems so depressing that they have not found a way to cure or help it more. I can actually picture the tears within you, don't know what else to say...

" ... A penetration into darkness / My attempt at life ..."
What emotion in those two lines! You are able to weigh the reader down with the sadness that you feel. Excellent work, Lori.
