Shadows hunt the innocent like thieves who stalk the night
stealing vestal future days through mirrored shamed delight
leaving nestling daughters in violent shades of shame
left to clean the bloody mess that tears cannot explain

With virtue lost through violent strokes of evil motivation
and love destroyed by unseen cuts of personal vexation
the soul can long for the sweet release of taking one’s own life
with hopes of ending a hellish dream through self inflicted strife

When dreams forsake the solitude of divine imagination
and the spark of life is left to die in the heart of the forsaken
a child can find that hidden place where childlike themes can live
free from the words and scars of life that shadow men can give

THIS IS SO GUT WRENCHINGLY SAD...AND AS LONG AS THE 'CHILD' DOESN'T HIDE TOO LONG...FOR ONE HAS TO COME OUT, AS DIFFICULT AS IT MAY BE, AND WITH GOD'S HELP, PRESS ON. THANKS FOR SHARING, LOVE AND BLESSINGS, JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Lori, You can make it through it and survive. It is hellish but you are better for it in the end. I ought to know, I have been through it myself! Christ is the answer through all of this.Becca

Lori,
"When dreams forsake the solitude of divine imagination
and the spark of life is left to die in the heart of the forsaken
a child can find that hidden place where childlike themes can live
free from the words and scars of life that shadow men can give
This is so powerful and the depth it is unreachable...

"The Hiding Place" is a composition poemized from emotions and facts of life felt by a heart that has a knowledgeable mind, and written with words that warn, instruct and delight the souls searching for wisdom.

I have enjoyed a masterpiece, and learned from a scholarly poetical writing.
