YOU are not going to believe this one! I'm a bad, bad girl. AND I have no idea where this one came from...but I think I will now admit myself so this doesn't happen again!

Poem Artwork

There’s a Fire in My Furnace

Although my hair is white now and my body’s tired and weak.
There’s a fire in my furnace even though my bones all creak.
I have this internal flame, that’s piloted when my husband comes to me.
He ignites my fiery furnace just as dazzling as it used to be.

This fire that burns within me, brings my husband to my lair.
He tries to put the fire out without special hoses or extreme care.
It gets so sweltering and hot that my husband hasn’t got a clue.
On how much steam I actually have, ‘til he opens up that flue.

I guess people think I’m decrepit, but oh, if they only knew
That I have a fiery furnace and especially about the flue.
Wouldn't it be simply wonderful if all this stuff was true ?
It was that crazy dream again, but this time, I made it through.

Hello Bonnie,

This made me smile! I agree with Jack that it's the inner person that matters, and age is just a number.
