Bonnie, unfortunately, courtesy seems to be a word that does not exist in the lexicons of many people today -- I don't know what created the change -- but civility is out the window with most of the younger generation, and more than I care to admit, in my generation too -- peace to you -- JMW

Hi Bonnie,unfortunately we live in a very narcisstic society.I agree with Linda Law when she said that people are in a hurry because life is a hurry.That is a sad reality.Several weeks ago,I was talking to this woman while she waited for the light to turn green and she said to me that people are always in a rush.When people cross the street and when a car hits them,they don't even have the courteous to stop their cars and to see if they are alright.They are just so focus on themselves and want to be in a rush for everything that they don't have the heart to care for a person's well being.We live in the "Me" generation which stands for Must Escape which is why people are in a rush.

The thing that I absolutely hate about people is when they are rude and not even know it whether its cutting in front of a line,stealing a parking space,not being grateful when someone greets you right back,etc.I swear some people can be down right cold-hearted,but thank goodness there are still good people in this world that showcases civility.Take good care of yourself

There is such a thing as "rude"....and unfortunately, life is getting more and more that way...people in a hurry because life is a hurry... and it isn't until we reach this age when we begin to realize that....our lives went so fast because we rushed thru it...and now...well, now hopefully, we are more patient...more understanding....at least I hope alot of us are... I will admit however to being aggravated many times myself while waiting in line and having people shove in front...while I'm in a hurry too... or in traffic when they pass you then slow down in front of you...??? go figure... it's just something inside of people...and I don't exactly call it "rude"... just misplaced anger.... good description of your pretty rattled day...hehe.... glad you got home ok... lindalaw

Have people changed drastically, so much so that we lost our civility?
When did we treat people like chattel, like today seemed to be?

So many horrendous problems today, and a loss of civility in our so called 'civilized' society is truly one of them. I now try to avoid these unruly people as often as I can; I even sneak out to the grocer's late at night, when it's only me and the checkout clerk instead of the pushing, nasty, in a hurry crowd.

Sad how we've become; God help us!!

I am not one who tolerates rudeness. If they treat me rude, I can be rude, right back. And those who speak Spanish in front of me...Oooh, you DON'T want to get ME started on THAT!! That's the WORST!!!!
