This dear soul finally found his nitch.

Poem Artwork

Wanna Buy a Tootbush!

Dudley had a small speech impediment which made it hard to find work.
He was the dearest soul, kindhearted with a minor little quirk.
He heard this toothbrush company was hiring so he dressed real nice.
And went to the company to apply, hoping his resume would suffice.

But they needed to talk to him to make sure he had what it would take.
They noticed the little quirk but decided to give this nice man a break.
So they gave him a briefcase full of toothbrushes and sent him on his way.
When he returned two days later, the manager wanted to hear what he had to say.

“How many tooth brushes did you sell Dudley, did you have a hard time?”
Dudley replied, “I jus ‘tod two toot bushes, I ony made a dime.”
"That’s not good Dudley, you must come up with some kind of gimmick or trick."
So Dudley started thinkin and thinin until he almost felt sick.

Dudley left the office with a heavy heart and a lot on his mind.
He wanted this job so bad, it was the best job he could find.

One week later Dudley returned with a completely empty briefcase.
All his tooth brushes were gone and he had a smile on his face.
“Dudley,” the manager said, "How many toothbrushes have you sold?"
“I ‘tod 2002 toot bushes, to the yung and to the owd.”

"Oh, Dudley that is super how in the world did you accomplish that?"
"Well, I put chip and dip on a tble up at the erport & that’s whar I sat."
Asking, “Wan some chip and dip and they took a big scoop.”
They said, "This is owful, this dip tast like poop!”
“It is poop, now do you wanna buy a toot bush?”
“Eveybody did and there was a humongous rush.”

Ha, ha, ha! Wicked sense of humor, Bonnie. Good tale of the little guy overcoming the obstacles.

A glimpse into American determination and business acumen!

You're a pink toothbrush, I'm a blue toothbrush! (Do you remember the song?) best wishes!

Spectacular work, Bonnie! A compelling story--and then the grand finale! Have I told you you're a hoot lately?
It's the only one I'm reading tonight, the one that pulled me in.

Fun write, Bonnie; thanks for the laughs! It's not funny, though, to live with a speech problem; I did for years before ongoing speech therapy finally took care of it!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
