Such innocence in this write, Bonnie; well penned! While in elementary school, one of my best friends was Jewish; she did not celebrate Christmas, but I still accepted it. I found it odd, but I still was her friend, regardless. Oh, if we could only learn from these lessons; the world would be a much better, nicer place~! Good message in this, Bonnie; well done!

Oh, how much I wish this time could come very soon. All these divisions are tearing our world apart for no reason.
My sister, Wendy, is Jewish. Hanukkah is really neat. It is eight days long, and it overlaps Christmas this year. On each of the eight days, you get a gift and you pray and you sing traditional songs, and you play special games, and these are feast days. The whole feeling about Hanukkah is very Spiritual; much more spiritual than the typical way we Americans celebrate Christmas. How strange, because Hanukkah celebrates a miracle which happened in the temple right after the Jews won a great battle against the army of an enemy king; their temple menorah miraculously stayed lit for eight days, and this miracle is what the Jews celebrate on Hanukkah. But even more interesting is that Jesus was a Jew and He celebrated Hanukkah. So, we do have much in common :-)
Me, too. =] God's chosen ... the Messiah, a Jew ... they had it all, it seemed! *sigh* But thank God the Father loved ALL, Jew and Gentile, that He gave His Only Begotten Son ... and that Gift will last an ETERNITY. Well done, my friend.
