Every four years the Olympics come around,
This time it was Beijing where gold medals were found .
I sat in the armchair looking at the TV .
But dad by day the games were difficult to see .
My eyesight was fading with a bit of a blur .
It couldn't see any of the action occur .
When I took my glasses off , things became quite clear .
The lens in my specs had somehow disappeared .
I went to the optician and bought a new pair .
Then I returned back home to my comfy armchair .
I switched on the TV but nothing could I hear .
Broken were the hearing aids I wore in my ear .
What else could I do I was almost deaf and blind ,
My memory was gone , I was losing my mind .
I'd put my glasses down but didn't know just where ,
Then I found them as I sat down on my armchair .
Underneath my body weight I heard them go crack .
So to the opticians I brought my glasses back .
I also took the hearing aids out of my ear ,
And bought a new set that were really very dear .
All the investments I'd made was money well spent
In my armchair I sat back to watch the event .
But a storm hit and the power went ,
God give me strength .
I rushed for the radio and found a wavelength .
When batteries in the radio went as well .
I thought these are the games that have been sent from hell .
So in the end I took a flight bound for Beijing .
But there was some trouble with a jet on the wing .
The plane was diverted to the nearest airport .
I fell down the planes steps as I tried to abort ,
and ended in some hospital in God know where .
I saw the closing of the games from my bed there .
Every four years the Olympics come back again .
I'll be prepared the next time .
The games go insane .
