Lightning flashed and thunder roared
As I rose from my chair
The storm poured into the night
Teardrops of despair
Like a moth to a flame is drawn
To the window I was led
What my mission might have been
Little could be said
For from that darkened portal seen
A night so black and wet
Where not a living creature stirred
No vision there was met
But still I gazed with open eyes
At raindrops on the pane
As if some answer could there reside
In those strident drops of rain
For something had surely led me here
To gaze up on the night
And something was out beyond the glass
That filled me full of fright
Crazed eyes and bared teeth
At last I could see
A wet monstor stood beyond
Looking back at me
Left outside in the raging storm
My cat was good and mad
Hurrying to let her in at last
I thought My God….my bad

Don't worry dear Sue, it was only the cookie monster staring through your panes. One might and you have him vanquished and just one drop of rain and he is mush upon the ground. Sic him kitty kat ... sic him. Cute and ardent. Poetry to dream own. Hugs Bill
