We stopped at three different bars
Before we were drunk enough to say the words
Old friends forever, we were hesitant to make the move
To reach out a hand that held more than friendship
Offer a kiss that said more than hello
We skirted the issue, long looks that suddenly became shy
When suddenly you said the hell with it
And kissed me right there
On the street outside the third bar
While I clutched frantically at your body
And wondered which of us had gone nuts
Sudden starts and stops in the cab on the way to my place
One moment lost in passion, the next in hesitation
Wanting the passion to last, but afraid of what we were losing
Still we hurried out of our clothes
Kissing and laughing, tripping over each other
Bumping heads in the hurry to meet again
After shirts were hurriedly pulled over tousled hair
And dropped into a pile
Mingling much as we were
So familiar yet so strange
We came together
First in friendship
And then in a tangled mess
Of body parts and discarded clothes
On a bed that would never be the same

That's a good way to start. First friendship, then love.
Worse, if it's the other way round, as in my case. That causes pain and heartache.
Hope you could repeat this night over and over again.

Best love I think normally comes first from friendship
