He’s gone And I can’t quite say he left a hole in my life Its filled with too many things to be a hole Its full of memories of happier times Tears both shed and unshed Words, both said and unsaid It has pieces of my heart And a lot of my mind It has wishes left unfulfilled And hopes now near dead It is half full of maybes And has a whole stack of never will be’s It is overly filled with regrets And full to the top with I’m sorry’s No this is no hole he left in my life Maybe the hole is in my heart instead
