I used to write alot about this subject, haven't for awhile but i'm feeling a little dark...

I used to walk down the street
Broad daylight
Nothing to be afraid of
I would wander those streets for hours
Looking for something I couldn’t find
Couldn’t even define
I looked in windows at the unsuspecting
Not voyeurism, not sexually at least
Just wanting, needing to know
What is in there
What do these people have that I don’t
A life
Maybe not
Maybe it is all just an illusion
Maybe none of us have what we assume others do
We just get up every day
And watch the game
Playing along
Trying to be unnoticed
Hoping no one will see the emptiness
Behind the façade
Behind the lies
Maybe

And maybe not

I cn refer to this.
Also do that quite often. Wandering the streets, looking through the windows, wondering what is behind those curtains? Love? Pain? Happy relationships?
Great ending of a great poem.

I think we all have these thoughts at one time or another,Sue.
Funny how we never seem to feel like we fit in anywhere. I
often wonder about that.
