A fellow poet once said 'I don't know how you write that stuff.' That stuff being erotic poetry. This was my answer and I realized lately I have neglected one of my favorite types of poetry. If it isn't to your taste, just skip the next two poems... I won't be offended

How to write erotica, interesting
I never really thought about how
My question has always been when
The urge comes on me, like a thought
I can’t seem to remember, and yet
Can’t quite forget
A vague memory maybe, a night
A cold winter lying in bed, not awake
But still not asleep, waiting, anticipating
Knowing he was coming home soon
The want still just a vague flicker
As I lay listening to the howl of the wind
Suddenly I felt his presence, careful
Pretending to be sound asleep
Breathing easily as I listened to him
As he crossed the room, loosening his tie
Unbuttoning his shirt, the subtle whisper
Of a zipper, I’m so still I can hardly breath
Waiting, anticipating, the want growing
I feel him lift the blanket and his cold hands
Touch my feet, gently rubbing, separating
Moving up my legs, warming as they move
I sigh and turn on my back, still feigning sleep
Although I can sense his wicked smile
He knows, and as his hands slide past my hips
On the way to my breasts, waiting
I feel his rough chin on my skin
Traveling up my legs, parting them easily
I can catch my breath, no longer pretending sleep
I silently urge him to hurry, there, there
Please go there, as I guide him with urgent hands
His warm breath on my body fans the fires
And the gentle flicker becomes a flame
Hot lapping, burning fire, threatening to consume me
As his tongue teases, touches, ignites
And I beg now, no longer silent
Please, please, yes, there, yes that
And he does, yes, he does there, and that
And I cry out as the ecstasy carries me higher
On waves of rushing hot passion
No longer waiting, no longer wanting
He’s there and I’m here and it’s so good
So good, so good, so good…
Uh oh….well…that’s how I do it anyway
And if you all will excuse me
I need some private time now….

We all write things that may not be to everyone's taste, but those who skip this miss out. I can usually enjoy a poet's style even if the content doesn't speak to me. This is great.

Sue, I understand why you write it, and why it's one of your favorite genres to write. Personally I enjoy a bit of erotica once in a while..it spices up the moment, and inspires most of the time when nothing else will.
You're good at these...I won't be skipping the next few posts...

Epiphany by Gary Stephens

“We’re going to use nine megaton warheads in space and we’re not sure they’re large enough to be effective. Why would you even consider using kiloton-range surface-to-air warheads as back-up?” The answer was succinct. “Because they’re all we have.”
