I wish I could explain
What poetry does for me
But then the people who would understand
Don’t need to be told at all
People like you
Poets who have to write
People who have the passion in their blood
Passion for words
And the beautifully symmetry of poetry
Rhyme or prose doesn’t matter
It’s the rhythm, the flow of words
The music of the keyboard
The purging of the soul onto paper
The cleansing feeling of knowing those words
From deep inside of you
Will be taken in by someone else
Someone who will understand
What it means to write it down
Whether they understand what you say
Or not, as it may be
They will understand your need to write
And the beauty of what you say

My medication requires that I write or I have to check myself back in behind those horrible walls. I'm on three glasses of anything 80proof or stronger a day.

Behind the Gates: Behind the Gates: A 1990s Hollywood Romantic Suspens by Lisa Maliga

The higher you go into the hills, the deeper the secrets... A seemingly innocent piece of mail shatters the illusion of Beverly Hills luxury, forcing a terrifying statement from a powerful action movie mogul: "they can't kill us fast enough."
