I know I’ve told you that I walk
I spend a lot of time on these city streets
But did I mention that I walk alone
I look at architecture, landscaping
Anything that catches my eye
Anything except them
They are always there, but I look away
Never catching their eyes
Afraid of what I might see there
They walk along in front of me
Holding hands
They skip through city parks, happy
I glimpse them through open drapes
Setting the table for two
Always pairs
Two people, in love
Even arguing, I envy them
Their togetherness
Every time I see them kiss
It takes a little bite out of my heart
I cry inside
While I speed walk the other direction
Away from them
Cause I always walk
alone
This a good write, but sad. I feel for you. I will say that being alone is better than being with a jerk. I've had the worst and now I have the best. If anything happened to him, I would always be alone.
