I woke
Bleary eyed and heavy limbed
More asleep than wake
I bumbled thru my shower
Still numb with lethargy
And wishing night back again
I dress with little thought
Hoping that all blends well
But not working hard to achieve
Any type of artistry
Out the door and to the right
Across a busy street I stumbled
To the coffee shop on the corner
Where I find sweet relief
Caffeine in abundance
Flavors galore
Latte, hazelnut
I don’t care just give me lots
I sink into a chair
sighing
Finally awake enough
To consider a bagel
