As usual when I write these Angel poems, I feel compelled to mention that I have no real insight into what Angels think, I am merely using poetic license and if the said Angel takes offense, he need only contact me and I will retract the written words

My name is Ashmael
I am one of the legions
Assigned to guard over mankind
Watch without interfering
That is as it has always been
And this I do, for it is my duty
But over the ages I have watched
And seen what mankind does to one another
And I can’t help but wonder
Why does my Lord care for these beings
Why does he love and guide them
When they cannot love and show care
To one another
Why does he forgive them
When their actions are unforgivable
I would never ask of my God
An explanation
For this he owes to no one
But I watch these beings called humans
And I wonder what he must be thinking
And I wonder
How much longer my God
Will find pleasure
In their existence

I often wonder whether God takes pleasure in our existance, or whether He has plans for us and is using Earth as a proving ground. What is he trying to prove? Only He knows. Maybe we will find out in the "sweet bye and bye."

Interesting write....Enjoyed the perspective....Take solace in the fact that mankind has been through much darker times than these.....and since Adam fell, has he ever found pleasure in our existence?...I'll bet Job didn't think so....

I wonder the same - especially in these truly disturbing hate-filled times.

This is wonderful Sue, I think your use of the Angel to spread the message is truly righteous. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Excellent poem, Sue. God knew from the beginning of the beginning that we would have a sin nature.

I wonder the same thing Sue. Especially now with people running rampant over innocent people smearing them with lies. It's amazing how some can be so vile because of insecurity within themselves. I think that's one of the answers. People who live in fear of being found out, and losing what they have.

Angels just do as God commands, they never ask questions, Angel meaning messenger, they give the message and go..
