My mind is wandering today...I could discover the answer to world peace and I would forget it before I told anyone...ever have days like that??
I wish there were something I could say
That has never been said before
Something that would touch the mind
And overwhelm the spirit
I want to be the one to make a difference
To stake a claim on this thing called life
But instead I go from day to day
Writing poems
And thinking deep thoughts
That will never find paper
Because they fade away before I can capture them
These thoughts so deep
That I hardly think them
Before they are gone
Lost forever
But I’m sure
They were intensely vital
If I could only remember
What it was
I forgot
I think we all share this problem as writers and poets and like sand slips through an hour glass the more we try to hang onto these thoughts the faster they slip thrrough.
