It was Mother’s Day
And I had to tell her no
The hardest no I have ever said
She begged
Let me come live with you
I’ll give up the crack
And the streets
Maybe not the men
But I’ll limit myself to a few
I wanted to take her in
Make her life okay
If I could only believe
But the past has taught me too well
She is only looking for a free ride
She has broke my bank account
And my heart too many times
So on Mother’s Day
With my heart in shreds
I had to tell her no
I drove her back
To that place where she stays
And cried all the way home
Cause I had to tell her no
Not for her own good only
But for mine as well

I think you said it all here, brave write this, honest and open and straight to the soul, a very powerful write, hope your strenght gets stronger, take care...Mark x
This is so very sad, Sue, but she is responsible for her own life and for making the changes before she asks you to help her. You are right, she is just looking for the easy way out and once she hunkers in she will be picking your pocket and disappointing you over and over again. Respect is earned, but we don't have any control over who we love.
Take care,
Sherry
I know how much you have suffered with this over the years Sue but all I can tell you is that you are doing what is best, until she is willing to help herself your hands are tied. Unfortunately so is your heart cause no matter what are kids do we still love them.
Jack Brennan is hired by a group of ultra rich English aristocrats to kidnap four top IRA terrorists. The contract is time limited but do the financial rewards justify the risk?
The only "no" that's harder to say is the one you said to yourself before she asked you. I feel for you...

People are their own worst enemies. They make their beds, they have to lie in them.
Good poem.
