This is a poem about reading someone's poetry for the first time at another poetry site and the friendship that ensued...quite a story in itself...does anyone remember it?

Hey baby
Here I am, sitting in the same place
I was sitting when I met you eight months ago
You were hanging out in this pink place
Stirring all the ladies with your own
Blend of sex and truth
I wandered in, looking for excitement
A little shy and insecure
And you had me from the first word
You stroked my inner thoughts provocatively
Caressed my mind and stirred my libido
I finally got the nerve to talk to you
You frightened me then
As much as you excited me
But I knew I had to know more
Hear more, read more, I had to know YOU
And now, here I sit, in the same place
While someone tells me you were seen
Down at the place by the sequoias
With that girl named Maria
The one that kisses you so grand
Whose body you love to watch as she dances
the way you used to love mine
I smile and say ‘that’s okay, that’s the way he is’
As I wipe a tear from my eye
I see that new guy Andre come in
Looking cocky and alone
And I wonder
If he knows anyone named Maria

Sue--do women have libidos??? Hell yeah. That 10-14 day after cycle thing has us lifting our tails and purring.
Loved this piece and how you did it.

Good work here. I have gained several very good friends over the years via the internet connection. My wife and I first met that way. And yes, women do have libidos

Quite a poetic tale, Sue - and probably something that occurs far too often.

Thought provoking... "that's okay, that's the way he is." When it comes to love, we're all afraid of the pain... let the tears fly... feel it and when we do, we know we deserve better...

Some guys just can't commit and must play the field at the expense of some gal he lead on. Powerful write with sad emotions between the lines.

The shy and the lonelies are always more vulnerable. That is why they get picked for fun all the time. Take care.
