Memories flashing by
Like the old movie machines
Flipping thru images
At lightning speed
You
Me
Them
There
Us
Stop, let me see
Let me feel what it was like
Let me touch
Feel
Talk
Let me have one more time
Gone
Flashing
Lightning moments
The past is gone...
Bye

It certainly seems that way doesn't it? And once it's all in motion there is no stopping it.
This Sue, is one of those writes that everyone relates to.
On a grand scale.

It is gone in a flash like lightning.

Very vivid, very acute, very class - very Sue!

This is excellent and you make me feel very "fat" when it comes to word use. You achieve so much with seemingly so few - but well-chosen so as to produce maximum effect and impact. This is skill indeed - and demonstrates massive control and discipline. Obviously I fall down in ALL these areas - especially in my reviewing! :)) A whole lifetime here, without so much as a "Hello!" Well, that's my Hi-di-Hi for today! Keep your poetic rockn'roll comin, Sue. Love Kate xx

A fine, flickering write. The form impels.

Your use of kinetoscope was perfect to project the flashing images we perceive when the past comes rushing through our minds.Excellent style used to further the image. Great poem Sue!

Sue,

The staccato rhythm accentuates the frenetic pace of trying to reclaim the past. Marvelously versed and written!

Our memories are that way and you wrote a great poem which accentuated the feeling one gets when they try to reclaim love, if only briefly, if only to momentarily to have that sublime feeling of so long ago. Our defense mechanisms stop that from happening, I feel, for our immediate sanity. Good poem.

The style certainly augments the content. Very nice indeed.

"The Kinetoscope was a forerunner of the modern movie projector developed by William Kennedy Laurie Dickson during his employment with Thomas Edison..." (Wikipedia)

A powerful reflective write, Sue. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace to you.

The vivid imagery projected in this poem truly makes one somehow flip through their own past, too, Sue - but as you say, the past is really gone.
