I found this poem among some unfinished works in my documents and can't remember ever having posted it. If I have, I apologize...
Sometimes I want something so bad
That I literally hurt from the feeling
I want to hold someone close again
The way I used to do
Before life and time made me hard
And I forgot how to love
I want to kiss lips that hunger
Touch fingers that linger on my body
While I softly beg for more
I want more than a cold lonely pillow
Stained with the tears of the night before
A home that echoes with memories
Of footsteps long passed on
I want to wake up from a night of sleep
To feel breath on my cheek
To share my morning coffee
With more than the local paper
I want to love again
I think you can and will if you decide to, your heart is certainly big enough but you have to step out of the box and take that chance that we all fear...heartache.
Sue,
I have to agree with Steve. Some things in life are worth repeating, and this would be one of those. I swear I heard the newpaper crinkle, as you folded it and put it away.
Love this!
somethings are worth repeating, Sue...this poem is certainly one of them
i too, would like to feel a nice warm, round rump snuggled up next to me on a cold night...the coffee thing sounds good also.

Gut touching write. I have moments like this too. I still believe it will happen when the time is right; what has changed is now I hope it takes quite awhile because I am enjoying my life as it is :-)
A touching and moving plea from the heart Sue

The way I used to do "

Well, I haven't read it. Good poetry about the wants and desires of someone who feels neglected and all that goes with it. My suggestion? Buy some new clothes. Doll yourself up. Step out to wherever you think people might be socializing and having fun, be it a church social or a rowdy bar. Make friends. Then, allow nature to take its course.
