Have you ever tried to hold on to time
Just a little piece of it
Something special you want to cherish
A moment in the sun
Have you ever grabbed it
With both hands
And held on for dear life
Only to have it slip away
As it always does
Why is time so elusive
So slithery and slippery
That it slides right thru our hands
And passes us by
Without a second thought
Time
Why is it so hard to hold
And so impossible to ignore

Oh this is so true to everyone's experience Sue! Time is a gift we open and want to possess. Being fools we trick ourselves into thinking that we do. Excellent write...

A question without an answer.
An enlightening one in itself.

Sue, I really like your poem. It brought to mind something I was just thinking about today. So I wrote it as a poem and I will post it soon. When I do, I will credit you for the inspiration. ~ Sara

So true, Sue (rhymed!) and even if we think we hold onto that bit of time it always seems more profound that it really was.
