this is just a poem, not about me, I was lucky to get cute....

I was beautiful at one time
Oh maybe not Garbo or Monroe
But I got by just fine
Men came easy
In those early years
When my hair was still blonde
And my body firm
They came and went often
Thru no fault of their own
I just couldn’t seem to settle
On one or the other
So long ago
Memories take me back like yesterday
To a firm bust
And an unbroken heart
Before the fall
Before I lost you
To some flat chested brunette
Who knew the meaning of love

Sue, this poem is so well done, I felt those crushing last lines, and the sense of loss.

Be well,

Sue,
Youth is our lost treasure, beauty is ours forever. As we age, it simply embeds itself into our souls, where those that really love us, look for it in the first place.
You do these really well Sue..and I always enjoy seeing what you'll come up with next!
So..Keep Writing!

Some people age is their beauty. Love seeing the twinkle in a more senior persons cheeky eye.
Beauty really is a persons soul.
Some are 40 years old. Others 80 years young.

Beautiful, haunting poem, Sue. The girl is empty in the beginning and the man is empty in the end. This excellent conjures up all kinds of "city street dark images."
