This is just something I needed to write...not to a person but to a way of thinking that i'm ready to say goodbye to...
I’m tired
I’m tired of dealing with you
And your self centeredness
Your lack of consideration for others
And your utter contempt for my life
And how I chose to live it
I’m tired of worrying about what you think
And where it is going to lead you
I’m tired
Of trying to be the bigger and the better
While you thrive in your smallness
I’m tired
Of living my life with you
And all that that entails
I’m sorry to tell you
But I’m tired of you
goodbye
It takes courage and strength to stand up to bullies and bigots and people who think they know everything and your poem says it all in a simple voice but one that sends a message loud and clear. Well done Sue.
When I wrote ths book in 2000, I was concerned about children having access to the Internet and to chat rooms where "you can be anyone you want." Here we are many years later and the situation with children talking freely to stangers on the Internet
