What do you remember most
About those long ago days, he asked
We were lingering over that last cup of coffee
And chatting about the good old days
A lover’s kiss, he smiled
Raising his eyebrow a bit
Or that last joint you smoked in 1973
A rum and coke
Or dancing to Brick House
Back in the summer
That disco was so in
And we lived to sweat it out
Was it a Harley ride
On a long autumn day
Playing pool and hanging out
What do you remember most
Come on girl
Tell the truth
I thought about it for a minute
Wondering what I remembered best
About being young and fancy free
No, no thought was necessary
I answered easily
It was watermelon wine
And the year of ‘83

Rapid fire race through the memories that a lot of us baby boomers know so well and I loved the ending best of all.

Oops in 83 I was already a mom with four kids and a hubby that started to drink much more than watermelon wine...but oh boy that was the year after I got my motorbike licence...and we had great fun with that taking the kids for their first sunday afternoon ride in the wind!!
