Feeling my age today....

I keep finding something to be true
More and more the older I get
The truth is
Getting old is not for sissies
Just getting up in the morning
Requires more strength
Than partying all night used to
Stairs we don’t even want to discuss
You have to be a stalwart miss
To walk up all four flights
Just to get halfway to the office
And then slink into the elevator
For the other four
Oops, I guess we just discussed stairs
Or at least I did
And that’s as close as I’m getting to them
At least for today
No getting old is not for sissies
You have to be brave
Just to face tomorrow
And the next day
And
Well, you get the picture
This old girl is off to bed

Loved it, Sue! Again, I love the way you write -- real, like life is. Excellent poem.

Know this poems message all too well, just can't figure out where yesterday and my damn bell bottoms went to.

I would have taken the elevator all the way if I were you; and then go for jogging or walking afterwards....Heeeheee! In that way, at least I won't feel the pain. :)

LOL, Sue...I feel your pain and I can relate to the stairphobia as well. I don't regret a single day on this journey, but time certainly has passed much more quickly than I ever would have believed it could.
Take care,
Sherry

I read you loud and clear, old girl.
Takes one to know one, we're told.
and this tired, rundown girl is old!
