I heard Hey Joe today by Jimi Hendrix and it reminded me of this poem I wrote a few years back. I thought I would dig it out and repost it. I hope you don't mind...I don't do this style much anymore

Hi my name’s Al
Yeah, that’s me, work at the motel down the street
That’s right the one with the blue doors
You heard that, have you? well, okay
Maybe it is one of those places, what do I know
I just fix the things that break and keep my nose clean
Sure, I see a lot, you start to blend into the woodwork
When you work in these places for a while
People forget to hide, they don’t even see ya there
Fixing the sink or caulking the shower
Parta the woodwork, I tell ya, s’all I am
Just the other day I hear this couple, they regulars
Every Thursday night like clockwork
The old man must have union meetin’ or somethin’
Anyways, I’m in the john, fixing the damned toilet
You wouldn't believe the shit people throw
down these suckers...but anyway
Like I’m saying, this couple come in, they see I’m there
Act a little self conscious for a while, then sure nuff
They forget I’m there…she’s like snivelin’ about her old man
Joe it is, how he works all the time and never takes care of her
Keeps all the money to himself, she’s really doin’ a number
On this poor Joe guy, laying it on old Harry, that’s the dude
Harry she says, we gotta get me away from him
He tells her shush and they whisper a bit
Then she gets miffed and starts ranting about how old Joe
Has all this money stashed, somewhere in the house
But she can’t find it…she wants Harry to come over
Next Thursday, she says, and they can tear the place apart
Till they find this stash, you know, and then they can cut out
Together…leave old Joe to his work or whatever
So this Trish, sure thing, that’s her name, she says….
Hey fella, where you going…you aren’t finished with my order
Damn he just ran out…lady, that guy was taking my order and
He just ran out the place….yeah the young guy…what’s his name
Joe???? Oh ….I see…damned if it ain’t Thursday too
His regular night I’ll betcha…naw I’m not hungry anymore
Think I’ll head on back to home
Me and my big mouth
Guess its done damage enough for one night

Thanx Sue, I really needed a laugh today. I know I haven't been aroud like I used to, but I was working on a chapter in my book for 7 weeks. :P Everytime I thought the chapter was finished, I remembered something else, and put it in there. :P Thank you for your review of I Say It Is All True, I really appreciate it a lot.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

This could be set to the tune of the Beatles' Rocky Racoon. The tongue might be the smallest organ in the body, but it sure can do the most damage. How often I've felt like going to the end of a pier because I failed to control the beast.
Enjoyed reading this, Sue. Have to dig out Hey Joe and give it another spin in my head.
