My mom remembers this poem from when she was young and wonders if anyone out there knows the author
Why begin?
We know the ending
Wind in the night
And flame blending
Flame in the wind
And a mad burning
Flame in the wind
To ashes turning
We are the flame
The wind lashes
Flames die
And I hate ashes
thank you so much, you are all wonderful. I tried to google it but came up with nothing. I'll look for a book of his poetry for mom, she has had this one memorized for the last 65+ years so she must have really liked it...mmmm i wonder if it struck home for some reason...

Yes indeed of course, it is a poem by Don Blanding...
