Aren't the Doobie Brothers the bomb!

He came from somewhere back in her long ago
Isn’t it amazing
How some combination of words
Thrown together for whatever reason
Strikes a resonance in our hearts
In our minds
We hear them over and over
What a fool believes
Michael McDonald sings the words
But they echo
Thru my life
Like he wrote them for me
Yes, he came from somewhere back in my long ago
But he walks thru my todays
Like he were still here
And yes, this fool believes
He remembers me still

Great write Sue. Our hearts seem to have a memory of their own, and will remember "back in my long ago". Hugs, Laura

With my left-handed brain, I kinda see this inside out... I am currently delving into all the old music I had NOT A CLUE meant something to me at the time... hearing the lyrics, as it were, for the very FIRST time... and NOW they mean a heck of a lot... and somehow I associate THAT with the past... Ain't the mind and emotions just the most wonderful thing?? Not sure whether it is the words, music, or the combination that bring on that Bill Withers "Lovely Day"-thing. So true, so real... so you! Gotta love this as ever. Your Den is ALWAYS the beer-in-the-kitchen-at-midnight heart-to-heart place. I like the honesty of "your place"! :)) K xx

It surely is, Sue, but it happens all the time.

" ... he came from somewhere back in my long ago ..." Great phrase, Sue! And I'm sure he does still remember you.
