Okay
Sure, I’ve taken up the habit
Of wandering around the apartment
Trying to remember where I was going
What it was I started out to do
I often find myself sitting on the sofa
Staring off into space
No idea what I was thinking about
Nothing to worry about
I’m sure everyone does that
No matter how old they are
Right?
Tell me I’m not the only one
Who stands in front of the refrigerator
A container of yogurt in one hand
And the can opener in another
Normal
Sure it is, ask anyone
But I don’t think I will
Ask anyone I mean
I don’t want them to give me that look
What look?
I don’t know, what look were you talking about?

You have me laughing! How about making Lipton's noodle soup, putting it in the microwave and have smoke and a funny burnt smell permeate the kitchen?? Forgot to add the water!!!!!!!!! See you are not alone!
Be safe,
Karen

Don't feel bad Sue, I have actually been driving to work and passed my turn...realizing a mile or two down the road what I did and have to turn around...or another episode that has happened to me...I have dialed the phone before and forget who I had called and had to wait for the person on the other end of the phone to answer to know who I had called...I think our answer instead of old age is that we are just too busy, preoccupied! Yeah, that's it...preoccupied! Loved this write...clever and creative...and helped me to diagnose my own insanity as preoccupied! Enjoyed!
Blessings,
Joyce Bowling

I'd comment on your poem but I forgot what I read :)lol. Great write, and we're all here with you forgetting as we get older. I find myself walking into a room and then forgetting what I went in there for. Retracing my steps usually helps!

What you put so well here is what my old professor/mentor at Pitt called a "senior moment." He had them often. I have them often. Well done. What were we talking about?

Humorous in a wry sort of way, Sue. Makes one think. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace,

I seem to have lost my car keys; again! Hmm... is there a pattern here? Oh, okay, they're probably right where I left them; if only I knew where that was. It's okay to lose 'stuff,' long as you keep your 'dignity.' Love your writing (and always have) -- Jeff
