Talkin’ about yesterday
Is talking about me
Who I am and how I got to be
Where I’ve been
And what it all meant back then
Old dreams and old sorrows
Tears long since shed
And laughter that echoes thru the years
Who I was and who I am today
Tied intricately together
With strings of emotion, hard felt
Tomorrow will come and I relish each day
But yesterday is golden
Tarnished a bit around the edges
But golden thru and thru
Today will be yesterday tomorrow. Interesting how each yesterday becomes accumalitively, a part of of our golden past (golden age).
Tears long since shed belong to memories that somehow metamorph into nostalgic moments of laughter. I can never work that one out in relation to my own life, but thankful for this change.
Nicelly written Sue, really did enjoy this one. I think of life as a quilt, you add a few pieces, you take some away, but always working, working, working.
