If you are abused...adult or child..reach out to someone...tell the secret. The 'he' in this poem is generic, I don't for a moment believe abuse is strictly a male sin.
I can hardly bear the weight
Secrecy
Sibilant
Sinister
My shoulders are bent
My heart heavy
Words too much to hold
Knowledge
Wrong, so very wrong
And secrecy
Rules my life
They say reach out

Wasn't sure If I shared them with you yet, BEWARE! Blunt and Honest! and 1 is a long, a kinda' mission-statement...

Stark and sad write and as so often is the case true, abused are just as much hurt by their inability to not reach out as they are the abuser. People who even have the sligtest suspicion that someone they know is being abused should do everything possible to let them know we will step forward and stand with them.
Such dark secretes kept undercover, such a shame. Should be out in the sunlight for all the world to learn how horrible being abused is. The scars it leaves go on forever. So terribly sad.
