Darkness isn’t just something that happens at dusk
A time of night or a color of one’s hair
Not the brown of one’s eyes
Or the shadows at the end of day
Darkness is a place in the heart
Where love no longer shines
Where laughter doesn’t reach
Darkness is a feeling long lost
And a caring no longer there
Dark
Bleak and mind numbing
Grief
Dark
Soul tearing misery that sees no end
Darkness
No edges or limits
It encompasses
All it touches
And it touches
Everything

No truer thought ever written. This was a powerful poem. Just screams out realities. Loved it.

Tragic with an element of truth; Darkness dawns only when contemplated. Well said!
