I知 not old
I知 well used and comfortable
Those sharp edges that used to cut so deep
Are now rounded and rubbed smooth
The acid on my tongue
Has turned to smooth glibness
That I acquired with age
Sort of like that smooth custard
They sell at Ted Drews
My words no longer choke
But go down easy
Kinda like I used to
When the mood hit me
I知 a good old girl
And I use the word old in jest
I must assure you again
I知 not old
I知 just reaching my prime
And thats all
I have to say

Lol! Now thats telling em! Old is a word used by those who are panicing about their own age. It's a matter of thought in self. Great piece!

Sue, first we (the over 50 crowd) have had quite a larger learning curve in life, which has made our aging a bit more of a smooth ride. Keep screaming, it looks good on you.

Peace,
Dan

Love the description...and in time we all round out those sharp edges to discover what lay underneath all the time. Superb work.

Amen! We certainly are not old, we just age like fine wine. :P Thank you for sharing this wonderfully light poem of graceful aging.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), sister Barbie
